Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell took the stage in front of a full house to introduce Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer at Bigelow Hall in the Miller IT Center on Feb. 12. Schumer was the keynote speaker for the McConnell Center’s distinguished speaker lecture series.
Before the event, members of the audience submitted questions to Schumer. Event staff selected the questions to be read.
One spectator asked, “how do you respond to Senator Rand Paul’s comments that bipartisanship that increases spending, both foreign and domestic, is not the kind of bipartisanship we need?
