After months of surveys and discussion,Arts and Sciences faculty are proposing the creation of an A&S Faculty Salary Committee.
The motion to propose the committee to A&S Dean Kimberly Kempf-Leonard passed a Faculty Assembly vote Friday. Leonard suggested the committee was needed so a group of faculty can devote time into continuing to participate salary research and discussion.
The new salary committee will be composed of six full time faculty members (two from each A&S division), one part time faculty representative and one term faculty member. The original proposal included staff representation, but faculty members removed them, saying it would be a “slap in the face to keep them on the committee.
