By Aaron Hartley–
Ryan Adams is the definition of a prolific musician. Since leaving the alternative country band Whiskeytown in 2000, he has released sixteen studio albums, beginning with the acclaimed classic “Heartbreaker” that year. Since, his releases have bounced erratically back and forth between country, folk, rock and pop.
The time around, Adams keeps it simple with the straight country rock album, “Prisoner.” The record deals with the themes of struggling and lost love, which is appropriate considering he and Mandy Moore divorced last year after seven years of marriage.
