Louisville’s men’s basketball program is reeling from an alleged scandal involving a former assistant paying for escorts to lure recruits, but the team has gotten off to a strong start despite that and is currently 5-0.
However, the team is unranked and coach Rick Pitino feels it has something to do with the scandal.
Speaking to Jeff Greer of The Courier-Journal, Pitino offered more.
“I think people are looking at that and they’re not really studying the team,” Pitino said.
“We had the best recruiting class, I think, in college basketball, as far as I’m concerned.
