U of L students are all too familiar with the iconic voice signaling that it’s safe to cross streets around campus. But do people obey the signs when they turn orange? Statistics compiled by The Cardinal found that jaywalking is a common occurrence on campus.
Over the course of 20 hours, The Cardinal counted more than 1,000 people jaywalking across campus.
The study was done by U of L’s Campus Media class. Jaywalkers were tallied at intersections on Belknap campus during hour-long increments.
