CBS and Turner Sports have reportedly decided to scrap the format of last year’s NCAA Tournament Selection Show, where the teams that received at-large bids were revealed in alphabetical order.
Some (very good) sports media news:
CBS will be changing the NCAA Selection Show from last year's broadcast on TBS. No rolling out all the teams in alphabetical order this year. They will return to unveiling the teams in brackets when you first see them on the screen.— Richard Deitsch (@richarddeitsch) March 10, 2019As much as everyone loved trying to keep up with the teams being revealed and remembering their alphabet at the same time — seeing Miami pop up and not realizing that meant Louisville was out until Greg Gumbel pointed it out was incredibly awkward for all parties concerned — this is a reversion that has been met with universal praise.
