The position coach pipe dream of many Louisville fans has been granted. Mike Summers, who coached several outstanding offensive lines during Petrino’s first stint at Louisville, is returning to coach the offensive line once more. The move was first reported by ESPN’s Brett McMurphy.
After the offensive line allowed Lamar Jackson to be pressured on 14.9% of his dropbacks in the final half of the regular season, fans immediately clamored for a change to be made with current offensive line coach Chris Klenakis. After Louisville, Summers followed Petrino to the Atlanta Falcons and Arkansas before leaving to coach the offensive line at Kentucky under Joker Phillips.
