Many University of Louisville students have experienced problems with their Cardmail account this week due to an issue with Microsoft’s software licensing for students
New U of L students, and some returning students, were not able to download the free Microsoft Office software which includes their Cardmail accounts, SharePoint, Skype or access to One-Drive.
“It was pretty frustrating not being able to open my Cardmail account for the first week of classes,” said freshman Hayley Scott. “I was not able to see some of my professor’s emails due to this issue.”
IT filed a Priority A, or highest priority, ticket for Microsoft’s assistance and tried to assign students new licenses, but was unable to do so due to changes with Microsoft licenses.
