Micale Cunningham named Music City Bowl MVP

For his efforts in Louisville’s 38-28 win over Mississippi State, Cardinal quarterback Micale Cunningham was named Most Valuable Player of the 2019 Music City Bowl.

Cunningham, a sophomore, completed 16 of 23 passed in the game for 279 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He also ran the ball 16 times for another 81 yards, good for an average of 5.1 yards per carry.

The performance and award wraps up a stellar sophomore season for Cunningham, who began the season as the primary backup to Jawon Pass. After Pass went down for the season in week two, Cunningham emerged as a force as Louisville’s signal caller.
