For the third season in a row, Louisville's "Battle for the Governor's Cup" game against arch-rival Kentucky has been slated or a noon kickoff. The game will be televised by the SEC Network.
The game at Commonweatlh Stadium in Lexington will mark the seventh time out of 12 regular season games that the Cardinals will have kicked off at noon or 12:30. The only three non-week night exceptions have been a 3:30 kickoff against Auburn in Atlanta, a 6 p.m. start against Samford back on Sept. 26, and this Saturday's 3:45 kick at Pittsburgh.
Louisville has won four consecutive games in the rivalry series, and is looking to run its lead over Kentucky in the modern era to 14-8, as well as even up the all-time series (the first six games were won by Kentucky between 1912-1924) at 14 games apiece.
