If you ask any UofL fan to name a player on the volleyball team, I guarantee you that they will say “Katie George.” She’s been a starter since her freshman year and is the only senior from this year that spent her entire career as a Cardinal. Her fellow seniors, Roxanne McVey (transferred from Mississippi State) and Erin Fairs (transferred from South Florida), played two and one seasons with the Cards, respectively. The three seniors provided valuable leadership and experience to a team that found itself in its second season in the ACC.
Last season, the volleyball team finished 15-15 with a conference record of 7-11.
