Louisville’s fall from atop the college basketball rankings world wasn’t quite as precipitous as you might have guessed. Because it was an especially batshit crazy week in the sport, the Cards’ midweek lost to Texas Tech resulted in just a two-spot drop from No. 1 to No. 3 in the latest AP top 25 poll.
Via Kelly Dickey, this is the first season Louisville has remained in the AP top five through the first seven polls since the 1966-67 campaign.
Kansas is the fifth different team to sit atop the AP poll, climbing one position to take over the top spot from the Cardinals.
