Louisville football coach Scott Satterfield announced during his weekly press conference on Monday that starting safety Russ Yeast is out for the Kentucky game after the junior suffered a knee injury in the Cardinals’ win over Syracuse. Satterfield added that Yeast had a procedure on the knee on Sunday.
Yeast seemed to hint at this news over the weekend.
Yeast, a junior, currently ranks fifth on the team in tackles with 61. His single interception leaves him tied with six teammates for the lead in that category.
It’s been a wild college career thus far for Yeast, who left the program near the end of last season, but returned once head coach Bobby Petrino was fired.
