Louisville has announced that starting quarterback Jawon Pass will not play in Saturday’s game against Western Kentucky because of “a lower extremity injury.” Sophomore Malik Cunningham will start in place of Pass.
Cunningham missed a chunk of Louisville’s fall camp because of a knee injury, but made his first appearance of the season last week against Eastern Kentucky. He completed the only pass he three, a 24-yard gain, and also rushed four times for 73 yards and a score. Cunningham started three games for the Cards last season.
Pass started Louisville’s first two games of 2019, completing 24 of 46 passes for 330 yards and four scores with one interception.
