As improbable as it seemed with a team chosen to finish last in their conference, It was announced this morning that Louisville football head coach Scott Satterfield has been named ACC Coach of the Year – beating out Virginia’s Bronco Mendenhall and Clemson’s Dabo Swinney.
Although the season came to a bittersweet finish with a sizable loss to rival UK, there are many reasons that point to why Satterfield was the chosen winner of the award.
First – the record.
In just one season, Satterfield’s overhaul of the offense propelled Louisville to more than TRIPLE its win total from their prior season: 2-10 in 2018 to 7-5 in 2019.
