Regardless of Louisville football’s outcome on Saturday when the Cardinals travel to North Carolina State, one star player is in line to walk away with an achievement only three Cardinals have achieved this century.
Running back Javian Hawkins is only 22 yards away from being the first running back since Bilal Powell in 2010 to reach the 1,000-yard single season mark.
Hawkins, Louisville surprise lead back, has been on a tear this season, averaging 5.4 yards per carry, and has been possibly the best feature back the Cards have seen since Powell.
Hawkins has done so by performing much larger than his 5’9” frame would indicate.
