Prior to the 2019-20 college football season, the expectations for the Louisville football team were understandably low; the Cardinals limped to a 2-10 finish the year before, but the squad possessed unusual amounts of talent.
A slight increase in wins was the norm for predictions, with bowl eligibility not out of the conversation.
However, head coach Scott Satterfield and company exceeded all expectations by posting an eight-win season that contained a 38-28 victory over Mississippi State in the Music City Bowl.
As the second year of the Satterfield era approaches, the outlook is much higher than most had predicted.
