Dae Williams should have been the clear lead back for Louisville football this fall. His career was set-up to make him a featured part of Bobby Petrino’s offense as a four-year player. But much like Petrino’s second stint in charge, the plan never came together.
That plan was derailed early when Williams suffered an ACL injury before the start of his freshman year. He would rebound from that injury and show glimpses of the talent everyone knew he had over the last six games of 2017.
2018 was the year that he was expected to take the starting job by the throat and not relinquish it.
