The University of Louisville announced Thursday afternoon that three men’s soccer players who threw a Saturday night party that resulted in 29 Cardinal athletes testing positive for COVID-19 have been dismissed from the program. Three other team members have been suspended as a result of their actions from the same weekend.
“I’m extremely disappointed in these young men and particularly with the three that have been dismissed,” U of L men’s soccer head coach John Michael Hayden said in a release. “They have demonstrated with their actions now and previously that they do not echo the culture of this program.
