Facing a near mirror image of itself, Louisville defeated University of Missouri-Kansas City 75-47 on the opening night of the Billy Minardi Classic at the KFC YUM! Center.
Five Cardinals scored in double figures led by Trey Lewis with 17 points. The fifth-year graduate transfer made three three-pointers in 26 minutes of play. Damion Lee added 14 points and three rebounds.
The Cardinals (10-1) went up against former assistant coach Kareem Richardson, who coached at Louisville from 2012-13. Richardson’s team showed off similar defensive schemes and offensive sets that coach Rick Pitino’s team usually runs.
