The Louisville baseball team continued to roll Thursday night, taking game one of a three-game set with visiting Miami by a final of 7-5. The Cards have now won seven straight.
The U of L offense produced yet another double-digit hit effort, pounding Miami pitching for 11 of them. This proved to be especially important on a night where national midseason Pitcher of the Year Reid Detmers wasn’t at his absolute sharpest. The Cardinal ace was still effective, surrendering three runs on five hits while striking out seven over 5 and 2/3 innings.
Each of the first four batters in the Cardinal lineup produced two hits.
