Lorenzo Mauldin Overcome With Emotion After NFL Dream Becomes Reality

Former Louisville defensive end/linebacker Lorenzo Mauldin is one of the more beloved Cardinals in recent years, in my opinion.

Lozo’s life before Louisville has been well documented over the past four years. He grew up bouncing around to a total of 16 foster homes, but he managed to find success on the football field.

After a stellar high school career, Mauldin signed to play for Steve Spurrier at South Carolina, but the Gamecocks eventually ran out of scholarships and asked Mauldin to gray-shirt. That’s when Charlie Strong stepped in and offered Lozo a scholarship.

Since arriving to Louisville 2011, Maulin has been a fan favorite.
