Louisville plays University of Missouri Kansas City as its first part of the Billy Minardi Classic, a two-day, two-game event at the KFC YUM! Center.
Coach Rick Pitino started the event in 2002 to honor the memory of Minardi, his best friend and brother-in-law that died in the Sept. 11 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center.
The Cardinals (9-1) defeated Western Kentucky on Saturday 78-56, extending its winning streak to four games.
Fifth-year senior Damion Lee leads Louisville in scoring with 18.3 points per game and has been the top scorer in eight of the ten games this season.
