Vince Tyra wasted no time in finding Louisville a new head men’s soccer coach.
Only 16 days after the unexpected resignation of long-time soccer head coach Ken Lolla, he will be replaced by his understudy, John Michael Hayden.
Hayden is a well-traveled coach with experience as a player as well as an assistant. He is a home-town guy who starred at Trinity high school in Louisville before playing on the collegiate level at Indiana University. There, he helped IU to back-to-back College Cup titles.
Hayden played on the professional level for the MLS’s Houston Dynamos, and also had a stint with the Louisville Lightning, an Arena Soccer League team.
