It's "Cardinal Red Day" in the city of Louisville

There may not be a men's team to cheer on this March, but Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer has still kept with tradition and declared Friday "Cardinal Red Day" in the city of Louisville.

The first "Cardinal Red Day" occurred before the U of L men played Kentucky in the 2012 Final Four, when the city apparently set the world record for most people wearing red in the same place ... which is apparently a trackable thing.

Jeff Walz and the U of L women begin their quest for a national title inside the Yum Center at 2:30 today against the 14th-seeded Sugar Bears of Central Arkansas.
