Heisman Trophy Winner 2016: Twitter Reacts to Lamar Jackson's Presentation

Louisville Cardinals quarterback Lamar Jackson's historic 2016 season earned him the Heisman Trophy on Saturday with 2,144 total points in the voting.

Eric Crawford of WDRB in Louisville, Kentucky, provided the vote totals, which showed a two-man race between Jackson and Clemson Tigers signal-caller Deshaun Watson:

Heisman voting:
1. Jackson 2,144
2. Watson 1,524
3. Mayfield 361
4. Westbrook 209
5. Peppers 208— Eric Crawford (@ericcrawford) December 11, 2016

Per Dane Brugler of CBS Sports, Jackson had a commanding edge in first-place votes:

Most 1st place Heisman votes:
Lamar Jackson (526)
Deshaun Watson (269)
Baker Mayfield (26)
Jonathan Allen (17)— Dane Brugler (@dpbrugler) December 11, 2016

This moment has been written in the stars essentially from the start of the season, though some wondered whether Louisville's dip in performance late in the year would hurt Jackson's case.
