We’ve known for the past couple of months that Rick Pitino has an open scholarship for the 2015-16 season and he intends on using it. On Thursday evening reports surfaced that Louisville has added someone for the upcoming season, however this particular player won’t take the available scholarship.
Jeff Greer of the Courier-Journal reports that former St. John’s walk-on Jay Henderson will transfer to Louisville as a non-scholarship player.
Henderson was a redshirt walk-on last season for St. John’s, therefore he’ll be able to play immediately.
Head coach Steve Lavin and St. John’s parted ways following this past season, which led to Henderson looking into other options.
