Former Louisville quarterback Will Gardner transferring to West Georgia

Former Louisville quarterback Will Gardner has elected to transfer to Division-II West Georgia, according to a report from Steve Jones of the Courier-Journal. Gardner earned his bachelor's degree from U of L last month and will be eligible to play during the 2016 season.

Facing the unenviable task of being the quarterback who replaced Teddy Bridgewater, Gardner started seven games for Louisville in 2014 before suffering his third major knee injury in four years. Before suffering that injury, he threw for 1,669 yards and 12 touchdowns, with just three interceptions. Despite generating a significant amount of buzz at the start of fall camp, Gardner did not take a snap for Louisville in 2014.
