The University of Louisville tipped off the first of two of their Red-White Intrasquad scrimmages Saturday October 3rd. This scrimmage wasn’t like most other years as the score and teams reset after the first half.
Sophomore forward Jaylen Johnson was the most active and posted 20 points and 18 rebounds. Freshman guard Donovan Mitchell 19 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists. Another notable players was sophomore center Anas Mahmoud with 21 points, 15 rebounds, and 4 blocks.
Head coach Rick Pitnio commented after the game, “For a one-day practice I thought the guys did very well…these games let them understand how it is playing in a big arena and get a lot of the jitters out but what I saw tonight and from practice was a lot of good things.
