On October 29, Cards United Against Sweatshops (CUAS), a student group focused on raising the minimum wage for U of L employees, led a campus-wide protest demanding some form of action to be taken by the university. The event was open for all students to join if they shared the same sentiment.
“The purpose of events like this is to educate the campus community on the campaign we’re running,” explains CUAS member Maddie Clabough. “We also plan on hearing from actual UofL workers/employees who aren’t receiving a living wage, and how they’d be impacted by the decision to raise their salary.
