After losing their first five games last week in Puerto Rico, Rick Pitino and the Louisville Cardinals closed out the trip with two straight wins.
The Cards defeated the Puerto Rican national team 84-81 on Friday evening after trailing by as many as 13-points in the second half.
“You want to learn from mistakes in victory,” Rick Pitino said following the game, who coached the Puerto Rico team. “Last night they (Louisville) played a good team and played very well. Tonight they played a lesser team and played poor basketball, except for the end.”
Trey Lewis led the way with 21 points, 16 of the 21 came in the second half.
