Brief: Medical school probation lifted

By Olivia Krauth–

After over a year, U of L’s School of Medicine is off of Liaison Committee on Medical Education probation.

LCME, an accrediting agency, placed the medical school on probation in March 2014. The School of Medicine announced yesterday that they are now in full compliance with LCME and the probation has been lifted.

Cited problems included overflowing classrooms and curriculum issues, the Cardinal reported in March 2014. To lose the probation, curriculum became more integrated and physical changes were made to one of the instructional buildings.
