The next chapter of former Louisville offensive tackle Breno Giacomini’s NFL career will happen with the Houston Texans, whom he signed a contract with on Tuesday.
The 2017 season will be Giacomini’s 10th in the league. He spent three seasons with the Green Bay Packers before moving on to Seattle and helping the Seahawks win the Super Bowl in 2013. He then signed a deal with the New York Jets, where he started 37 games over the past three seasons.
The Texans are in desperate need of a starting right tackle after losing Derek Newton for the 2017 season due to a knee injury, hence the signing of Giacomini, who was released by the Jets in February.
