In a 24-hour notice meeting, the University of Louisville’s board of trustees agreed to a near-unanimous vote threatening to sue the U of L Foundation. According to board chairman Larry Benz, the board will select a forensic accounting firm to review the Foundation’s expenses, and will file suit if they are unable to hand over their financial records.
On Sept. 8, Dr. Bob Hughes, chairman of the Foundation, proposed instead that a committee of Foundation and board of trustees members help conduct the audit.
