Interim basketball coach David Padgett announced Trent Johnson as assistant coach Oct. 10. Since former assistant Kenny Johnson is on administrative leave and Jordan Fair is fired, Padgett found himself the only person on basketball’s coaching staff.
Padgett’s ties with Johnson go back to when he played high school basketball in Nevada with Johnson’s son while He was the head coach at the University of Nevada.
