Ali family still planning Omaha trip if Louisville makes College World Series

After his team's 15-3 dismantling of Ohio State on Saturday, Louisville baseball coach Dan McDonnell addressed the same issue that the rest of the world remains fixated on: the passing of Muhammad Ali.

Ali, whose son, Asaad, played for Louisville from 2009-2012, and his wife, Lonnie, were adamant supporters of the baseball program and had been planning on making the trip to Omaha if the Cards won the World Series. Even without the family patriarch, Lonnie Ali wanted to let McDonnell know that they were still planning on making that trip.

"Many people were disappointed that we didn't make it to Omaha, and the Ali family was one of them," McDonnell said.
