MONROE, La. - ULM battled tough heat and a tough Northwestern State team to come away with their second win of the season on Friday night, 1-0.
"This is 100 percent a team win," head coach Keyton Wheelock said.
NSU started out with the attack quickly, taking five shots in the first half. Maddie Scott led the charge for the Lady Demons, but Rian Kasner, who got her first start of the season, held strong and kept NSU at bay. Kasner's four saves on the night would all come at the right time.
The pace slowed at the end of the first half and both teams would go into the locker room tied 0-0.
