LAKE CHARLES, La. - The ULM volleyball team split a pair of matches Friday at McNeese State, defeating Grambling State, 3-0, and falling to the hosts, 3-0.
ULM (7-5) started set one against Grambing (2-9) quickly, gaining a 3-0 lead. The Warhawks kept the pressure on the Tigers and a kill by Alix Christie allowed ULM to command a 16-7 lead. The Warhawks stayed in control for the set and a McKinley Thiede ace and an attack error by Grambling allowed ULM to cruise to a 25-18 set one victory.
"We were extremely focused and executed our game plan, which allowed us to run the offense we needed to score points quickly and effectively," head coach Charlie Olson said.
