MONROE, La. - The ULM women's soccer team battled through steady rain and soggy field conditions against Georgia State Friday night, but fell to the Panthers, 2-0.
"We both had to play in tough conditions tonight," ULM head coach Keyton Wheelock said. "They came out ready and we didn't."
Georgia State (7-8-2, 4-4-1 Sun Belt) wasted no time to start the game. Brooke Shank scored on a header from point-blank range for the Panthers in the first two minutes to put Georgia State up, 1-0. Jimena Cabrero set up the game's first goal by chasing down a long pass before it crossed the end line and delivering a nifty feed to Shank.
