MONROE, La. – The ULM soccer team (9-8-2, 3-5-2 SBC) shut out Southern Miss (3-7-5, 2-3-5 SBC) on Thursday morning, snapping a six-game unbeaten streak for the Golden Eagles. The Warhawks started hot, scoring just eleven minutes into the contest and continued to build from there.
The first half started with both teams firing on all cylinders, trying to fight for the first score. Back-to-back corner kicks for the Warhawks by Mara Grutkamp gave Beth Strutton the opportunity to send a header behind the goalkeeper, giving ULM the 1-0 lead.
