MONROE, La. – The northeastern Louisiana and ULM golf community lost one of its iconic figures this week with the passing of Dr. Wallace Jones.
Jones, who died Oct. 7, 2018, at age 90, served as ULM's golf coach for 18 years from 1976 to 1993 and continued to champion the program for the remainder of his life.
"In our golf community, Wally was known as the icon of NLU and ULM golf," former ULM Director of Golf Ashley Tonore said. "He and (wife) Angylyn were the foundation of ULM's golf program and were instrumental in its success.
