MONROE, La. – Six years ago, the ULM men’s basketball program was sanctioned by the NCAA for low academic progress rate (APR) scores and suffered penalties that gave the team a minuscule chance of winning.
Six seasons later, the Warhawks completed one of the greatest two-year stretches in school history, which included back-to-back 20-win seasons and postseason appearances.
“When I first took the job, I didn’t know how bad it was going to be,” ULM head coach Keith Richard said before the 2015-16 season. “I still would have taken it, but it ended up being a lot harder than I would have ever thought.
