ARLINGTON, Texas – A five-run fourth inning for the UTA Mavericks was enough to defeat ULM 8-4 on Sunday afternoon and end its shot for the road sweep.
UTA (18-15, 5-7 SBC) scored as many runs in that frame as it had in the first two games against ULM. Jerame Littell singled up the middle that increased their lead to 4-2, then Darien McLemore doubled to left center that emptied the bases. He ultimately scored on a wild pitch for an 8-2 margin.
McLemore’s homer and Quintin Rohrbaugh’s sacrifice fly put UTA on the board in the first, but ULM responded with two runs as well.
