FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Louisiana Monroe volleyball team dropped its 2017 season opener to Utah State, 3-0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-20), in the opening match of the Arkansas Classic at Barnhill Arena.
There were five lead changes and nine ties in a highly competitive third set.
As a team, Utah State hit .309 (39-9-97), including .542 (14-1-24) in the second set, while ULM hit just .123 for the match, with 34 kills on 106 attempts and 21 errors. USU senior outside Lauren Anderson recorded a double-double, with 13 kills and 10 digs.
ULM fifth-year senior libero Kacey LeBlanc recorded a match-best 16 digs.
