Early runs, errors by the Eagles and a shutout performance led to ULM winning a weekend series.
On Friday, the Warhawks (18-10; 2-0) traveled to Statesboro, Georgia, to take on Georgia Southern (10-14; 0-2) in their conference opener.
In game one, the scoring started early for the Warhawks. ULM put up six runs in the second inning with a combination of base hits and throwing errors by the Eagles.
The Warhawks held a 6-0 lead going into the fourth inning when Georgia Southern produced two runs off an RBI single and groundout to second base that advanced the runners.
