MONROE, La. – Under mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-90s, second-year Louisiana Monroe head football coach Matt Viator sent his team through a 120-play “situational” scrimmage in Malone Stadium on Sunday, Aug. 20, as the Warhawks completed their 19th preseason practice.
“I liked it really,” Viator said. “I thought it was pretty clean, and that's what I'm looking for. We're executing, regardless of which side makes plays. We're executing and it resembles what we're trying to get accomplished.
“Obviously, it was very hot (105 heat index), but I thought the kids did a good job of fighting through it, and we got some good work in today.
