TROY, Ala. – The Troy Trojans scored all five of their runs in the first two innings, and ULM ultimately dropped a 5-3 decision in Friday’s series opener at Riddle-Pace Field.
The Trojans (27-19, 12-10 SBC) loaded the bases in each of the first two innings. Justin Friend’s bases-loaded walk gave them an early lead before four more runs came across in the following frame.
ULM starter Chris Hunt (3-6) froze the second inning’s first batter on a third strike call, but two singles and a walk ensued. A fielding error, passed ball and two-run single by Friend upped the Trojan lead to 5-0.
