Starkville, Miss. - No. 5 Mississippi State scored seven runs before an out was recorded in the bottom of the first inning, and then added a 10-run fourth inning to roll past ULM 21-8 Wednesday night at Duty Noble Field.
"Mississippi State, it's a different level than where we are right now in every way, shape and form," head coach Mike Federico said. "That's why they're the number five team in the country. They got some senior leadership, Mangum at the top of the lineup, got some firepower there in the middle, they play solid defense and of course they got some power arms out there.
