MONROE, La. – Junior Devyn McCormick, who averaged 45.7 yards on seven punts including two kicks inside the opponent's 20 in ULM's 29-16 win over Troy in the Sun Belt Conference opener for both teams, has been selected Louisiana Sports Writers Association Co-Special Teams Player of the Week.
McCormick's season-long 55-yarder early in the fourth quarter pinned Troy back at its own 4-yard line. Two plays later, Ty Shelby sacked Taylor Powell for a 7-yard loss that resulted in a safety, which gave ULM a 22-10 lead.
A native of Port Charlotte, Florida, McCormick currently ranks fourth in the Sun Belt, averaging 43.
