MONROE, La. – Between the 4:42 mark of the second quarter and the 7:13 mark of the fourth quarter, the Gold team scored 16 consecutive points en route to a 25-17 win over the Maroon team in the annual Spring Game at JPS Field at Malone Stadium.
Tyler Cain got things going for the Maroon team as on the first play from scrimmage he scampered 46 yards into Gold territory. Cain’s big run eventually set up a 43 yard field goal by Craig Ford with 6:40 to play in the opening quarter.
Gold responded with an eight play, 75-yard drive that was capped by a 28 yard TD pass from Garrett Smith to Brennan Bradley.
